What We Collect
When you enroll in the paid course, join the free community, or use Connections, we collect:
- Account information: your email address, and any display name, username, bio, stroke year, or recovery story you choose to add.
- Content you post: feed posts, forum threads and replies, comments, direct messages, pod check-ins, exercise logs, milestones, and any photos or videos you upload.
- Connections profile data (optional, opt-in only): if you set up a Connections profile, the bio, interests, intent (friendship and/or dating), and photos you add, plus your likes, passes, and matches.
- Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe for the $97 course purchase. We never see or store your card number — Stripe sends us only a confirmation that payment succeeded.
- Basic technical data: standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) collected automatically by our hosting and analytics providers.
How We Use It
- To create and run your account, and to grant access to the course or community you've joined.
- To send transactional email: login links, purchase receipts, and direct notifications you'd expect (a new match, a reply to your thread).
- To moderate the platform — reviewing reported content, reviewing Connections bios and photos before they're visible to others, and enforcing our Terms of Service.
- To improve the platform, understand what's useful, and fix what's broken.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with advertisers.
Who We Share It With
We use a small number of service providers to run the platform, each only with the access they need to do their job:
- Supabase — our database, authentication, and file storage provider.
- Stripe — payment processing for course purchases.
- Resend — transactional email delivery (login links, notifications).
- Netlify — website hosting.
Other community members see what you choose to make visible: your posts, your display name/username, your avatar, and (if you opt in) your Connections profile. Nobody sees your email address except you and the platform operator.
Connections Is Opt-In and Reviewable
Connections (our friendship/dating feature) is never on by default. It requires an explicit 18+ confirmation, a safety acknowledgment, and your own choice to opt in. You can opt out at any time from your Connections settings, which immediately removes your visibility to other members. Bios are screened automatically and, when flagged, reviewed by a human; photos are always reviewed by a human before becoming visible.
Your Choices
- Access and correction: edit your display name, username, bio, avatar, and recovery story any time from your Profile page.
- Deletion: email us at the address below to request deletion of your account and associated data. We'll confirm once it's done.
- Opting out of Connections: turn it off any time from the Connections setup page — your profile stops being shown to others immediately.
Data Retention and Security
We keep your data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the service. Data is stored with industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest via our infrastructure providers, and access is restricted by row-level security policies so that, with narrow and clearly-scoped exceptions for safety moderation, members can only see their own private data and what other members choose to make public.
Children's Privacy
This platform, and Connections in particular, is intended for adults. Connections specifically requires you to confirm you are 18 or older before it becomes available. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes in a material way, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify active members by email.
